Jump Back! are you for real?

So as I sit in the library, neglecting my geology homework, i have been doing some quality creeping on people's blogs and there are a few things I would like to say:
1. I understand people who have children want to make their blog private, but it is annoying for me, the innocent creeper.
2. The weather was so beautiful yesterday that it is going to keep me in a good mood through the weekend,(doesn't have to do with blogs, but sidenote)
3. I love people with a lot of opinions, like my sister Rae for example, because they make for the most interesting read.
4. There is, however, sort of a fine line I think though, I don't really like to read a blog that is strictly stuff you saw in a magazine. show me the real pics... holla back
that s about it

communications class

so we were assigned the talk by David A. Bednar, "And None Shall Offend Them", I am sure everyone has read it, heard it, or heard someone talking about it. I think the same thing now that I did when I heard it. I am not sure I would ever be one to be so offended by one person that I won't return to church again, but I know people that have, so I am just going to make sure I am never the one who offends. It must be a pretty harsh feeling to know that you made someone so upset that they never want to return to church. I know a lot of times as members we say things that may seem funny to us, or talk about how bad it is to do certain things, but on these subjects we should probably keep our mouths shut because you never know when there will be an investigator or new convert and it makes us seem like our beliefs and way of life are so much better. Its not, and it can really offend other people.....
Just some thoughts on that

emotions. Part of the formula we talked about in class today was the stimulus. I don't know how many of you guys have seen this, but it would be hard to try and change your natural emotions with this lady. Enjoy

COMM 150:The True Measure of Discipleship

So for my communications class I had to read an older devotional about the measure of discipleship, and before reading on thought... what is the measure of my Discipleship? I figured that I live in an arctic winter for 5 months out of the year to go to a mormon school, but he author, Kenneth L. Southwick, said that the true measure of our discipleship is how we view people. This was hard for me to grasp. Not even how we treat people, but we view them. Before reading this talk, I thought that we couldn't control the way we thought of people, just the way we treated them, apparently I was wrong. So what I took from this talk (other than feeling like a total judgmental brat) is that we need to think more of how others are feeling, how the Savior views them and take that into consideration before passing judgement. I have come into even more of a realization how much this is a weakness of mine and needs to be addressed. So just a shout out to the rest of you, not to sound preach-y but this is what I got out of the devotional read in communications class.
